Meet Our Colour Consultants

It’s time to meet our expert consultants!

They have a keen eye for décor, a passion for using colour to bring life to spaces, and the experience to go with it.

We asked our Consultants to share a bit into their work, what they love about colour consultancy, what you should expect from a consultancy session with them and how they use colours to create beautiful and lovely spaces.

Check them out and book an appointment today!

Meet UMMI

What is the first thing you do when you take on a project?

I start every project by getting a detailed brief from the client.

I find out who the client is and what appeals to them, who else will be using the space and what the space will be used for. Then I have enough background knowledge to create a beautiful and functional design unique to every client.

What should your clients expect from the Dulux Colour Consultancy Experience?

Clients should expect a solution-providing, value-adding colour experience that is unique to each their individual needs and wants.

This experience puts into consideration the existing fixtures in the client’s space to come up with the best possible aesthetic outcome that matches the function of the space.

What is your favourite part of being a colour consultant?

This will have to be exposing the client to a range of colour ideas that they were not privy to and their eventual satisfaction after providing solutions for their colour and design needs.

What colour palette would you be using in your dream home?

I am into minimalist/Scandinavian design so a neutral palette would go perfectly with that and leave room to have fun with pops of colour using accent furniture pieces and accessories.

What are your three golden rules when it comes to advising clients on colour and décor choices?

-Always consider the function of the space when designing the aesthetics. A beautiful space that doesn’t function properly is not ideal.
-Use the 60-30-10 colour rule: 60% being the colour that covers the room, 30% being the secondary colour (furniture in the space) & 10% being an accent colour to add excitement in the space (accent accessories).
-Ensure the design has balance and there is a great flow from room to room.
